The Portway is a classic example of a traditional, ornate Victorian wood fireplace.

This fireplace displays four vertical channels carved into the jambs, with the outside edge jamb feet, and chamfered mouldings. The head of the jamb shows the flower design relief, and the lower edge of the frieze blends into the jamb rebates to create a shallow arch. With a central floral motif on the frieze, a three-layer mantelpiece completes the surround, the bottom tier inscribed with stringing detail.

This classic Victorian fireplace gives character to both contemporary and period rooms, with lighter woods suiting the more modern styles.
