It features triple parallel channel detailing on the squared jambs, with chamfered block feet and capitals with flower motif roundel. The recessed frieze has a wide rope twist swag, rounded off with a tiered mantelpiece.. The modest roundels and rope swag provide a counterpoint to the clean straight lines of the jambs, without detracting from the simple design.
