This elegant chimneypiece is inspired by the work of Sir William Chambers and comprises many features of Neo-classical design, as is characteristic of the Georgian period.

The Blenheim is a grand fireplace in the style of Sir William Chambers. It has fluted pilasters with Ionic capitals and a frieze which incorporates a central tablet with an urn and foliage. Shown with black marble hearth and brass Dorchester basket (not supplied) Comprising many features of Neo-classical design, the Blenheim is characteristic of the Georgian period. The jambs standing on deep block feet are fluted to resemble pilasters and have scrolled Ionic capitals. The simplicity of the scrolling is complemented by a band of egg and dart moulding and some carved Corinthian leaf detailing. The greater ornamentation, however, is reserved for the entablature. Vertical fluting echoes the flanking pilasters, but also effectively frames the central decorative tablet. The tablet boasts a Grecian urn motif balanced by a delicate floral garland, a design which harmonises with a pair of antique braziers which appear to rest on the architrave above each pilaster. Wonderfully symmetrical and satisfying in its proportions, the Blenheim gains an added touch of opulence and warmth with the inlaid Sienna marble, contributing to the overall grandeur of the piece.
