The DRU Agua range was especially designed for people looking to be more efficient with their gas consumption. By not only utilising the heat emitted by the fire for the room in which it is situated but by also providing heat to the water that runs through the fire, less heat is lost and you gain more output from your fire! How does it work?
The fire or stove is ideally linked to a buffer tank. Water is pumped through pipes from the buffer tank to the fire and back again. This allows you to connect several alternative energy sources to the buffer tank and to utilise these as the source of your central heating and domnestic hot water! It's also possible of course to connect directly to your central heating system without the buffer tank in between. The fire is connected to your existing or new central heating system. In this instance the water is pumped from the central heating system through the pipes in the fire and back again. In this way you are supporting your central heating system, whilst simultaneously heating one or more rooms. The water running through the fire or stove is, in both cases, heated by the radiant heat and the flue gases. The flue gases are sucked downwards via a ventilator along the pipework. In this instance the pipes act as a heat exchanger. At present DRU has two models that utilise this system: the built-in Agua B100 and the freestanding Agua F100. |
